Howl is now available to order through your local independent bookstore! As a self-published author, Amazon’s KDP program is an amazing tool to reach a world-wide audience of potential readers. However, with my deep love and respect for independent bookstores, I knew I couldn’t just stop there. So, I decided to choose apples AND oranges, and also published with IngramSpark, which is the self-publishing portion of Ingram, one of the world’s largest book suppliers to brick-and-mortar bookstores. The result? Now you can order Howl through your local bookstore! Your local bookseller will order it through Ingram, and get their cut of the profit. The book still only costs $9.99, and you will have your book in 3 to 5 business days. Everyone wins! I ordered a copy from my favorite local bookshop, Greenlight Bookstore, in Fort Greene last week. I’m excited for it to come in!
Also — if you are an educator who is interested in scheduling a free author visit for your classroom in the fall, please contact me. If you are in the NYC area, I can probably visit your classroom in person. If you are anywhere else in the world, we can arrange a Skype author visit. I would love to connect with your students to talk about the writing process, the love of reading, and answer questions they might have.
Happy summer reading!
